I encourage everyone to take a few minutes out of their school and/or work schedules today to recognize current and former members of the U.S. Army.

Joseph Cassilly, who serves as the State's Attorney in Hartford County, MD, was named the 2011 Outstanding Disabled Veteran of the Year. He is a paraplegic as a result of injuries sustained in the Vietnam War. His story is very motivational and it's amazing to see everything that he's done with his life in spite of his disability.

At Grantham University's Town Hall Meeting on Thursday, June 30th, Dr. Fred Snow, president, presented recent graduate, Bill Krawczyk, with his diploma. Bill earned a Bachelor of Science online degree in Multidisciplinary Studies.
 
Bill was not able to join Grantham staff in person to receive his diploma, so this was one small way we could thank him for his service to our country.
 
Bill is a severely injured U.S. Army veteran who has been in and out of the hospital battling multiple surgeries, kidney failure and infection as a result of a chemical agent he was exposed to during his last tour in Iraq. He is a true inspiration to us all and a shining example of what it means to have a fighting spirit and true grit.

During the 2009 holiday season,Grantham University sent a series of gift packages to the Army's 126th Financial Management Company and they arrived just in time.
