Students who receive standout grades on research papers tend to put a significant amount of effort into the writing process. Similarly, job seekers who receive invitations to interviews tend to spend a substantial amount of time refining their resume and cover letter.

Asking a student to write an above-average research paper in an hour is like asking an aspiring runner to train for a marathon in one day.

Proofreading can prevent unexpected communication glitches and save college students' research papers.

Happy Thursday! If you’re anything like me, then your latest term for your online degree program started up again yesterday (and now I’ve got that scene from “Billy Madison” stuck in my head… awesome). 

This could have happened: I go to pick up my kids from school, to find that my wife has already picked them up. The neighborhood kid, Johnny, asks for a ride home. “Sure!” I tell him and he jumps in the car. “I probably should tell someone I’m taking Johnny home,” I think. So I explain what we’re doing to a little blonde girl with the Ninja Turtle backpack. She looks responsible, especially for a 6-year-old. 

It may sound odd to hear this from someone who has dedicated their career to writing, but I experience writing anxiety. Like many students in online degree programs, I get worked up when faced with something that may be evaluated by another. My knowledge of writing has progressively made this easier, but the fear continues.

If you find yourself writing like you’re sending a text instead of a research paper, you might need a few refreshers before tackling that big assignment for your online degree program. After all, the last thing you want is to turn in a paper you spent hours on only to have tons of points marked off for grammatical mistakes.
