Is University of Arkansas Grantham really giving a laptop to every new student at no extra cost?

Yes, that’s right! New or returning students who enroll now in a degree program will receive a new Lenovo laptop from University of Arkansas Grantham after they begin class — at no additional cost. This initiative aligns with our mission to make education more accessible, and better enable student participation in online classes. By minimizing difficulties associated with substandard technology, we’re making it easier for students to persist and complete their degree program.

How do I qualify for the offer?

  • Complete the admission process and be admitted to an Associate, a Bachelor’s, or a Master’s degree program. Certificate or non-degree-seeking programs and courses are excluded.
  • Start class(es) in the next term.
  • Provide a mailing address in the continental US (no P.O. Boxes), and be able to sign for delivery. Shipping to destinations outside the continental US, including Alaska, Hawaii, and military posts abroad may be unavailable or delayed. International shipping is not available.

When will I receive my laptop?

During the first two weeks following the start of classes, laptop ordering instructions are emailed to eligible students that have provided a non-P.O. Box mailing address during registration. Students order the laptop beginning the week following the term’s drop deadline. At that time, students receive access to the program portal and submit their order. Allow 2-4 weeks for delivery, US and military addresses only.

What are the technical specifications of the laptop?

The laptop will be a Windows 11 device, manufactured by Lenovo (or equivalent, made by another OEM), with the following specifications: screen size 15.6”; 8GB RAM, 128GB solid-state drive. Technical specifications are subject to change based on availability. Laptops come fully equipped with the software necessary to be successful in your classes. Students will also have access to Microsoft Office 365 through the student portal.
